A few weeks ago Sephora packaged Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadows in Honey Bunny and Recess together for $14 as a holiday special. Normally these sell for $24 CAD each and that is a whooping saves of almost 70% off. Since I have never tried these cream shadows and I couldn’t resist the discount I obviously picked these up. Of course, I can never resist Benefit’s cute and cheeky packagings.
When I swatch these, I find that they are creamier and more opaque than MAC’s Paint Pots. I also find that they are less drying. Honey Bunny is a semi-sheer matte and Recess is a satin finish with light shimmer and is opaque. These dry to a powder finish within seconds and they last all day on my skin without smudging or creasing. I have a shallow crease and I never have a problem with anything creasing on my lids, so I can’t say the same would happen for people with deeper and more defined creases. Both Honey Bunny and Recess are neutral shades that would be nice for a nude/neutral eye, but I think they are a bit bland even for neutrals. I prefer my neutrals to have a bit more pizzazz to it, such as MAC Paint in Bamboom or Sublime Nature. I would probably end up using these as eyeshadow bases; however, I would never rule out using these for a nude eye with a super bold lip. Below are swatches of Honey Bunny and Recess and a quick colour description. Enjoy them!

I applied Honey Bunny all over my lid, MAC Kid eyeshadow in the crease, MAC Shroom on the brow bone, MAC Fluidline Blacktrack for upper lash line and MAC Dazzle Lash mascara for lashes.
Honey Bunny is a neutral beige pink that reminds me of MAC Paint Pot in Painterly but less pink. On my skin it is a very light beige pink and it looks very natural. It looks like I am barely wearing anything on my eyes. This cream shadow applies smoothly but is a bit sheer and requires a bit of layering if you want to wear it on its own. It dries quickly, within seconds into a powdery finish that does not flake or smudge. It is a matte finish.

I applied Recess all over my lid, MAC Kid eyeshadow in the crease, MAC Shroom on the brow bone, MAC Fluidline Blacktrack for upper lash line and MAC Dazzle Lash mascara for lashes.
Recess is a neutral beige/ flesh tone color that looks a lot like concealer in the pot. On my skin it looks like a light champagne colour. It dries to a powder finish within seconds and has a satiny sheen to it. I find this colour to be more opaque than Honey Bunny. Similar to Honey Bunny this colour is very natural and it looks like I am not wearing anything at all.
