The Perfect Turquoise EOTD Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Liner in Flipside

Spring has just started barely three weeks ago and I am already thinking of summer. Everywhere I see cosmetics companies have at least one teal, blue-green, turquoise and aqua item. This colour range is just oh so gorgeous, with Pantone announcing that turquoise is the colour of the year. You will see a lot of similar blue-green colours. This beauty is the oh so fabulous Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Liner in Flipside. It is a beautiful shade of Caribbean Ocean blue to me, but U/D calls it a bright teal. It is a clear blue with just a slight hint of green and shimmer. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on liners are gel liners that are creamy and smooth, and well they glide on like gel! These also stay on forever, until I decide to take it off with an oil cleanser. U/D 24/7 liners are waterproof and smudge proof.

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows Product Pictures, Review and Swatches

Above: Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows

Happy Sunday ladies, I finally got around to swatch this set after weeks of slacking off. The Alice palette includes 16 eyeshadows; 24/7 Glide on Liner in Zero and Flipeside; and a mini Shadow Primer Potion. I will update with a swatch and review of Flipside as soon as I can. Overall I really like the colour payoff of most of the eyeshadows and I have had a lot of fun creating looks from the Alice palette. My issues for this palette is that there are not a lot of variety of finishes because most of the eyeshadows are frosts and glitters. There are usually 1-2 token mattes in the set, but even the “matte” finishes have subtle shimmer or glitter sprinkled in it. I find Urban Decay eyeshadows very frost and glitter heavy. I wished that Urban Decay would have created a truly limited edition palette with all limited edition colours. Luckily, I am fairly new to the Urban Decay brand, so I don’t have the majority of the colours. Below are the swatches enjoy them!

Above left to right: Underland; Alice; Oraculum; Queen.

Underland (Flash): A violet colour and a frost finish.
Alice (Painkiller): A turquoise/sky blue and a frost finish.
Oraculum (Baked): A metallic bronze that looks like a shiny penny. It is frost finish.
Queen (Last Call): A burgundy colour and a frost finish.

Above: Chessur; White Rabbit; Wonderland; Curiouser

Chessur (Chopper): A soft bronze colour, non-metallic. It is a glitter finish and has quite a bit of fallout.

White Rabbit (Polyester Bride): A white with silver glitter. This shadow feels gritty and has fallout issues.

Wonderland(Maui Wowie): A soft antique gold with silver glitter. Has glitter fallout issues.

Curiouser(Grifter): A lilac with silver glitter. If this colour is not gritty, glittery and has major fallout issues, this would be my favourite colour.

Above left to right: Muchness: Mushroom: Midnight Tea Party; Vorpal

Muchness(X): A frosty peachy apricot colour. It is a iridescent colour that shifts between gold and pink.

Mushroom: A frosty silvery taupe. It looks like a cross between MAC Satin Taupe and Smoke & Diamonds.

Midnight Tea Party (Midnight Cowboy Rides Again): Glittery champagne pinky peach. Very glittery and the fallout is horrible.

Vorpal(S&M): A frosty silver.

Above left to right: Absolem; Drink Me, Eat Me; Mad Hatter; Jabberwocky

Absolem(Homegrown): A frosty leafy green

Drink Me, Eat Me (Sin): A frosty champagne pink with zero glitter. A great all over or highlight colour. This is one of my favourite Urban Decay eyeshadow colours.

Mad Hatter(Twice Baked): A “matte” chocolate brown with subtle glitter. Unlike all the other eyeshadows with glitter, Mad Hatter has very little fallout.

Jabberwocky(Oil Slick): A “matte” black with silver glitter. Although this has glitter in it the fallout is minor. This colour reminds me of MAC Black Tied.

FOTD Lavender, Violet and Burgundy Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Palette Curiouser, Wonderland and Queen

I finally put together a FOTD from the Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows. This is a look I whipped together in about 30 minutes for a little Birthday dinner with my friends. It was so dreary and rainy outside, I wanted something cheerful, bright and that would compliment my sweater.

Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland 16 Eyeshadow Palette Product Pictures

I managed to snag a set of Urban Decay’s Alice in Wonderland Palette from a friend who bought an extra box. Lucky me! I did see these at my local Sephora but decided to hold off it for a while. Of course when I decided to get on it is sold out online and in stores. So I was very lucky to be able to grab one off her. The packaging is gorgeous and evokes a dark fantasy vibe. The packaging is like the Urban Decay Book of Shadows with a “book cover” and a pull out drawer of 16 eyeshadows; two 24/7 Glide on Liners; and mini eyeshadow primer potion. It includes a pop up art of scene in the movie along with a mirror. Enjoy these pictures! I will be back with swatches and a review as soon as I am able to.

EOTD Pink, Silver and Black: Urban Decay Sphynx, Perversion and Gunmetal

I was playing around with the pink, silver and black in my Urban Decay Book of Shadows Volume II Kit. I rarely wear pinks and I think this is the first time I used this type of colour combo. While I like the blend of colours together, I didn’t really like the whole face’s final results or how the pictures turned out. Consequently, this posting is only of the eyes.

FOTD Golds, Greens, Purple and Hot Pink Lips using Nars Schiap Lipstick and Nars Easy Lover Lipgloss

I did this look for a night out in town with the girls last weekend. Although it is still technically winter, I can’t help but do a colourful spring look. I also wanted to experiment with a strong colourful eye with a bolder lip because I am a bit bored of the typical stronger eye/neutral lip and vice versa combo. It was the weekend and I was going to a club so why not go all out? I am also loving Nars Schiap lipstick.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion Product Picture, Swatch and Review

I have finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried the Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion, after hearing numerous good things about it. I got my first in the Urban Decay Book of Shadows Vol II and it came in a little travel size vial. The vial is cute and looks like a magic potion bottle with a doe foot applicator. Urban Decay describes this as a genie in a bottle miracle eyeshadow primer that makes eyeshadow last, colour more vibrant and no creasing.

The primer is silicone based and feels very luxurious on my skin. I like the formula because it feels silky smooth and dries instantly. It is a concealer colour in the bottle but dries clear. It creates a silky smooth texture on my eye lids and it even fills in my fine lines a bit. I have tried these with various powder eyeshadows and loose pigments and the primer make the shadows and pigment stick quite well. Previously, my favourite primer for loose pigments is Medusa’s Makeup Stick It! Primer. Although the Medusa primer is wonderful and makes my eyeshadow vibrant and long lasting, I find that it smudges when it gets very hot and humid outside during the summer. I think it is because Stick It! is wax base. Since the Urban Decay primer is silicone base it “dries” and sets the eyeshadows and pigments better.

The Urban Decay primer and eyeshadow together seem to seal and create a dry film of colour on my lids that does not rub off until I wash off my eye make up. The primer also makes the eyeshadow colour true to pan colour. I even use the primer potion on my under eye area before I put on concealer and find that it fills in my fine lines and my concealer stays put even without setting it with powder. Overall, I really like Urban Decay Shadow Primer Potion and it works with many eyeshadow formulas. There are a few eyeshadows that I have that work better with other primers though, but this reason won’t stop me from buying the primer potion again.
