Summer Neons NOTD LA Colours Intense Nail Colours High Voltage 4 Pack Purple & Green NOTD

I got this LA Colours Intense Nail Colour 4 Pack in High Voltage way back in Christmas time from my friend. A few days ago my NOTD and review was pink and blue. Today is the remaining colours in the set: purple and green.

I find these sheerer than the pink and blue polishes and they are more shimmery as well. The purple has a blue iridescent cast to it with purple shimmer. The green is the sheerest  in this set and it is a golden spring green that reminds me of MAC’s Juxt eyeshadow but with glitter. The green has golden green micro glitter in it. Although there is glitter in the green polish it doesn’t dry gritty. The polishes’ texture is smooth and not thick nor thin. These polishes dry to a semi-matte finish but using a top coat afterwards will bring a glossy finish. Since the purple and green are the sheerest, I needed three coats but after three coats I could still see the white of my nails.

Summer Neons NOTD LA Colours Intense Nail Colours High Voltage 4 Pack Pink and Blue NOTD

I received this last Christmas from a dear friend and finally cracked this out to play with. What is more perfect in the summer than bright neon nails? This is the “High Voltage” pack No 74096. This four pack consists of a blue, pink, green and purple, all are shimmers. I am wearing pink and blue for this NOTD post.

The formula is decent, not thick or thin. It looks to be on the sheer side because when I used two layers I can detect the whites of my nails slightly. As per usual with neons, these dry to a semi-matte finish but I used OPI Top Coat to make it shiny and longer lasting. However, I must be pretty rough with my hands last week, as my nails chipped within three days.

The pink is a vibrant orangy pink with golden micro shimmer. The shimmer is very subtle because I can detect the shimmer more in the bottle than on my nails. The blue is a medium bright blue with blue shimmer. Both colours are vibrant but not as shocking as the Essie Neon collections.

A Turquoise Dar-jee-ling! NOTD LA Girl Flare Bright Delights Nail Lacquer in Vinyl Record NL89

After wearing so much grays and muted colours lately, I am in the mood for something more vibrant and cheerful. Although the pictures make the colour looks sky blue, this LA Girl “Vinyl Records,” (NL89) is indeed a turquoise/aqua colour. Most blues are just notoriously evil to capture in pictures and print. I have scoured the interweb for a more accurate picture/swatch of Vinyl Records but all of them look sky blue, no matter the lighting, with and without flash. But believe me, this is a gorgeous shade of blue with a hint of green, not has deep as a teal but image a Caribbean ocean blue. In fact in looks very close to the colour of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Liner in Flipeside but with more green  Turquoise colours are oh so gorgeous and perfect for the summer. This is one of my favourite colours to wear on fingers and toes during the summer. Pantone even named Turquoise the colour of the year for 2010. My dear friend pick  this beauty for me for Christmas because she knew I would love this and I do! The one issue I have is that the formula is a bit thick, consequently two thin coats is enough for full even coverage but the polish did bubble a bit because of the thicker nature of the polish. I just did my nails last night, so I have no clue on the wear time and polish durability, but I just really want to share this beauty to everybody. LA Girl Flare Bright Delights Nail Lacquer is also called Disco Brights on their website. Why do I called this colour my Turquoise Dar-jee-ling? I affectionately nicknamed it after the movie “The Darjeeling Limited” of course! Where the colour is predominately featured in the movie.

Lucky Saint Paddy’s Day NOTD LA Colours Nail Lacquer in Green Satin

I received this as a Christmas present from a dear friend and I believe she bought this at Forever 21. This is a gorgeous shade of pastel mint green with a light pearl finish. It has slight yellow tones to it. The colour is called Green Satin and follows the mint green craze that Chanel created with their Jade nail lacquer. Green Satin is perfect for spring being that it is a shimmery pastel. This colour reminds me of McDonalds Shamrock shake that they have every year around this time. It really looks like a dipped my fingers in the minty green milkshake. I find the polish’s formula to be a bit thick and the pigmentation to be sheer. It also applies streaky. I needed to use four layers for full and opaque coverage. I used a thin first layer and waited for it to completely dry then followed by three medium thick coats. Being that LA Colours is a budget cheap thrills brand, I didn’t mind the extra work and the colour is quite lovely.
