I decided to have a single big splurged at the Sephora VIB sale and bought a 100mL bottle of Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum. It is a lot of money to be paying up front for one thing, but perfume lasts me a few years and I have been eyeing this one for a while. They say the best perfume is the ones that you can’t detect or barely can detect on yourself after about 30 minutes and Viva La Juicy is one of them for me.
I would spray some on my pulse points at 8 am and by 4 pm, towards the end of the workday, the scent is still subtly on me but I have to really sniff my wrist to smell it. However, others can still smell the scent on me, especially when they get in close. I have been receiving very nice compliments about Viva La Juicy so far. The scent is sweet and floral without being overpowering. Though it is light and fresh, it is not a weak scent either. I find that Viva La Juicy is youthful and sexy but not juvenile. Viva La Juicy reminds me of Anna Sui’s LE Bonjour L’Amour eau de toilette, but Bonjour L’Amour is more melony and Viva La Juicy is more berries.
When I first have this on it is full of berries and fruitiness, then it turns floral with a mixture of jasmine and gardenia, as the fragrance dies down it smells of vanilla and sandalwood. It is a very warm scent and perfect for spring and summer. The notes Viva La Juicy contains some of my favourite scents. They are as follow: Wild berries; mandarin; honeysuckle; gardenia; jasmine; amber; caramel; vanilla; sandalwood; and praline.
The bottle is gorgeous and luxurious. It is a glass decanter with a stopper decorated by a gold Juicy Couture emblem and “Couture” charm and topped off with a big fuchsia satin ribbon. The glass bottle feels heavy and expensive. The beautiful packaging is a nice finishing touch to the lovely scent and I feel I am getting what I am paying for. In addition, it looks gorgeous on my dresser!
