FOTD Chanel Birds of Paradise Les Ombres À Paupières Quatuor Sheer and Natural Yellow, Green and Orange with MAC Pearlglide Intense Liner Black Line

Lately I have been playing around with the Chanel Birds of Paradise Les Ombres À Paupières Quatuor a lot. I wanted to experiment with different bases, wear the shadows wet/dry and wear different colour combinations. Being that it is expensive at $61.00 CAD, I should wear it a lot to get my money’s worth. Also the colours are gorgeous for spring. For this FOTD I used a neutral creme eyeshadow as base and the eyeshadows wet. It created a very sheer, water colour quality. Although the colours came out sheer, I can still clearly see each colour distinctively. The eyeshadows also blend well when wet. I quite like wearing Birds of Paradise sheer because it is subtle.

Les Verts, Oranges, Bleus et Jaunes FOTD Chanel Birds of Paradise Les Ombres À Paupières Quatuor

Hello Happy Saturday. This is another Chanel Birds of Paradise FOTD I did that is a little bit more colourful and vibrant. I used Medusa’s Stick It Primer. It is a clear wax based primer that adheres product and colour better for the Birds of Paradise quad. If  you want something more vibrant and are using Birds of Paradise, definitely use a clear sticky base.

A Little Bit of Paradise FOTD Chanel Les Ombres À Paupières Quatuor Birds of Paradise 15

Here is a look I played around with for work the other day with Chanel Quadra Birds of Paradise 15. Even though this was released during the holidays, I find this palette best for spring and summer. There is just a nice water colour quality to the colours. I did this in about 15 minutes and it was just right for my office. A little bit of colour but not over the top. I will be testing this palette with several different eyeshadow bases to test the pigmentation of the colors. More to come and stay tuned for the review.

MAC Prêt-à-Papier Paint Pot Coral Crepe is Lovelier as a Blush! Mini FOTD

Though I have always preferred the MAC Paints (tube) over the Paint Pots, I do like the sheer wash of colour the Paint Pots provide. They make lovely eyeshadow and as an eyeshadow base. It has been a long while since MAC introduced a new Paint Pot colour, this April they released a LE Paint Pot in Coral Crepe, an earthy peachy coral. The colour almost seems a little rustic to me. Coral Crepe has a satiny sheen to it, but not shimmery. Although it is pigmented, it does have a sheerness to it, but the colour is buildable to something more opaque.

I have tried this on the eyes alone and as a base with MAC Arena eyeshadow, but I think the colour is too redden/orangy for my taste to be wearing Coral Crepe on the eyes. At least that is the case, when I wear the colour as a all over color; however, I do like to use a dab of Coral Crepe on the outer eye corners and the crease. For me, this colour looks prettier when it is subtly used.

I have been wearing it on my cheeks for the past two days and I LOVE it. It creates the perfect sheer  peachy coral flush on my cheeks. I look very heathy and glowing wearing it as a blush. I think it is better then any creme or gel blush I have ever used. Most of the blushes I used, usually fade by mid-day. I have it on at 8 am and at 7 pm it is still on my cheeks and the colour has not faded. This stays on like a true stain, it doesn’t rub off on the eyes and it doesn’t rub off on the cheeks. It was a dream to blend this on my cheeks. Ladies, if you are looking for an neutral coral cheek colour, give Coral Crepe a try!

Le Simple Chanel FOTD Birds of Paradise à Ombres Paupières Quatuor, Jade Stylo Yeux et Rouge Allure Laque in Phoenix

I got invited to a Chanel event yesterday and picked up some goodies. I have never been to a Chanel event before and there were items I wanted to try for a while now. Here is a very simple light spring look the MA did for me. It was daytime and I was only meeting a friend for a lunch, so I didn’t want anything to extravagant. Although, Birds of Paradise quatuor was released during the holidays, my local counter still has some instead, so I gave it a try for a spring look.

FOTD MAC Colour Forecast 1 Stack 1 Crush Metal Pigments in Pinks and Purples

I played around with MAC Colour Forecast 1 Stack 1 Crush Metal Pigments in the pinks/purples last Saturday for a dinner and a night out in town partying at some Olympic street parties. I love the colours but there are a lot of fallout with the light pink and lavender colours.  I had trouble cleaning up the fallout even after applying foundation and powder. While the lightest pink and purple have the chunkier texture, the darker pink and purple are more finely milled and have less fallout. At least with my stack.

FOTD Soft Pink and Aubergine using NARS Kuala Lumpur Eyeshadow Duo with Dolce Vita Lipstick

This is my first time using a full face of NARS products, while I was invited to a NARS event last weekend. My makeup artist used a variety of new and old items on me. One item I really wanted to try was the Kuala Lumpur eyeshadow because I thought the light champagne pink and aubergine colours were pretty and soft; however, I didn’t anticipate the colours being that soft and sheer. I expected NARS eyeshadows to be pigmented but Kuala Lumpur turns out to be a sheer wash of colour on me and the colour did faded a bit. I like the colour but I wanted it to be more pigmented. I did not pick up Kuala Lumpur that day and I am still debating if I should.

FOTD Golds, Greens, Purple and Hot Pink Lips using Nars Schiap Lipstick and Nars Easy Lover Lipgloss

I did this look for a night out in town with the girls last weekend. Although it is still technically winter, I can’t help but do a colourful spring look. I also wanted to experiment with a strong colourful eye with a bolder lip because I am a bit bored of the typical stronger eye/neutral lip and vice versa combo. It was the weekend and I was going to a club so why not go all out? I am also loving Nars Schiap lipstick.
