Medusa’s Makeup Volume For Electric Lashes Mascara Smells a Bit Like Fruit Candy

When Medusa’s Makeup announced that they are releasing mascara, I knew I wanted to try it, especially if it is colour mascara. These were launched in Fall 2009. I love colour mascaras because they are fun and funky and they are a great alternative to colour liner. I like to wear colour mascaras when I am feeling lazy and don’t want to do go too elaborate with my eye makeup. I find that it is a bit more unique than wearing colour liner. Since MAC  discontinued their line of colour mascaras, I have had trouble finding mascaras I like. These babies cost $9.00 USD on the Medusa’s Makeup website but the have an ongoing promotion of buying the set of 4 for $28.00 USD.

The mascara is supposed to be waterproof and volumizing. Did I mention that these mascaras faintly smell of candy? Most of the mascaras don’t smell, but Envy (green) and Black Magic (black) smells a bit like gummy candy or at least I think so. Perhaps it is the candilla wax in the ingredients?

The packaging comes in Medusa’s trademark colours: black and hot pink. The pictures don’t really show off the vibrancy of the colours because they are much brighter in real life. I can’t wait to try these on a EOTD or FOTD. Check out my swatches for these mascaras.
