Above: MAC Warm Me Up Lipstick (Amplified Creme)
MAC Warm Me Up Lipstick is a limited edition colour to the Warm Me Up collection by MAC released on December 26, 2009. It is not practically unique and there are several colours like it that were released this year. There are close dupes in the permanent collection as well, but it is a gorgeous neutral that would look good on many skin tones.
The colour is a neutral peachy pink colour that is opaque and pigmented. On my lips it glides on smoothly, creamily and it has a light sheen to it. The finish is an Amplified Creme. While it is long lasting it does not make my lips feel dry. I find that it last a good 5-6 hours even after eating and drinking (with a fork and straw). After my meal, the shine has faded but I still have some colour on my lips.
It is a pretty colour that is why a picked it up but we have seen colours like this before. Some people think it is a close dupe for Brave New Bronze from Style Warriors, but I don’t own that colour so I can’t compare. I do think it is a very close dupe to High Def from High Def. In fact it is so close that I don’t think it is necessary to have both; however, I love neutrals in this colour family so I don’t mind too much as they can back each other up, should I ever finish one of these lipsticks one before the other.
To compare, Warm Me Up is a peachy pink nude in the tube and High Def is more of a neutral brownish pink. On my lips and against my complexion, it looks almost the same but High Def looks a bit more neutral with the brown tones and Warm Me Up looks a little brighter with the peachy pink tones. In the permanent collection, I think both of these are fairly close to Mocha (satin) with High Def being a closer dupe .
