Above: Sephora OPI Nail Lacquer in Too Good for Him
This Christmas and holiday season call for glitter nailpolish at least once or twice or whenever you are in the mood to have flashy nails. Too Good for Him is another blingtastic addition to Sephora OPI’s holiday nailpolish line up along with Untarnished Image and Worth My Weight.
Too Good for Him is a confection of party glitter sprinkled on my nails. The polish has a clear base with silver, purple and blue glitter. Although the glitter is dense, I find this polish to be sheerer than Untarnished Image, which also has a clear base. It applies a bit blotchy if you can’t get the layers to be even. Whereas Untarnished Image is opaque after three layers, Too Good for Him takes 4-5 layers to achieve opacity and close to the bottle colour. For me 4 layers is good enough to get the density of the glitter to show on my nails; however, like Untarnished Image my natural nail shows a bit. Since it is a bit sheer, the application does takes some patience and care.
I find that I need to use one thin layer, wait for it to dry then proceed with 2-4 layers or a 5th layer if needed. The layers after the first layer should be about medium thick. I waited about two minutes between layers because when I apply polish on top of wet polish, the polish drags, streaks and the glitter ends up bunching up at the tips of my nails. Most glittery polishes are gritty by nature, but surprisingly Good Enough for Him polish’s texture is quite smooth. Despite these small issues, I really like this glitter polish because it steps away from the typical metallic glitter of golds and silvers.
If you are looking for a blingtastic glitter nailpolish that is not your typical gold or silver, check out this multi-faceted glitter polish. It is perfect for New Years Eve or anytime you want something flashy. Too Good for Him is definitely a happy party colour and it takes me back to the day when I use to make my own glitter polishes.
