Tis the season to have bling bling nails. The Christmas and holiday season call for glittery nails at least once or twice. Sephora OPI Nail Lacquer in Worth My Weight is a blingtastic shimmery gold with iridescent flakey glitter. When I wear this polish, my nails look like I dipped my nails in molten gold and sprinkled with glitter. The glitter is dense and brings out the shine of the polish.
Worth My Weight is a pigmented metallic shimmery gold with flakey iridescent/holographic glitter that reflects colours in pink, blue, green, silver and whatever colour you can spot. The larger flakes of glitter is definitely on trend with this season’s glittery nails. The texture of this polish is a bit chunkier because of the larger and flakier flecks of glitter. In fact if you apply with layers that are too thick you will grab too much glitter verses actual polish. I learned to use thin even layers to get an equal ratio of polish vs glitter. At 1 layer, the polish is perfect for layering over something else; at 2 layers the polish gives a semi-sheer look and my nail shows through a bit; and at 3 layers, I get the perfect opaque gold finish with flashy shiny glitter. I prefer 3 layers because I get full coverage colour and glitter at the same time. Similar to most glittery nailpolishes, the texture is gritty but a layer of topcoat will smooth it out. I love glittery nailpolishes because of the bling and because they are hardy. Glittery and shimmery/metallic nailpolishes tend to trump over creams at wear time but they are a pain to remove. However, this doesn’t stop my love of glittery nailpolishes.
If you are looking for something that is metallic, fun and glittery this season for parties or just a random day, Worth My Weight is worth checking out. This colour makes me feel very cheerful and festive. It looks like I have a party on my nails!
