Above: Sephora OPI Nail Lacquer in Untarnished Image
Tis the season to have bling bling nails. The Christmas and holiday season call for glittery nails at least once or twice. Untarnished Image is part of Sephora OPI 2009 Holiday glitter polish collection. This is probably the best silver glitter polish I ever owned. It definitely beats the one I used to have from Wet n Wild. It also reminds me of my own nailpolish concoctions, when I buy clear polish and dump a bunch of chunky silver craft glitter to get the most metallic and densest glitter polish ever. I have even tried putting in glitter glue.
Untarnished Image is one of the most metallic, purest silver and densest silver glitter polishes I have ever used. The polish has a clear base with medium sized glitter. It is semi-sheer that is buildable to a more opaque finish because the glitter is very dense. However, it remain semi-sheer because despite the dense glitter my nail still shows through a bit. I was able to build descent coverage with 3 medium thick coats. I would not recommend doing more than that because I think it may look to gunky and thick. Besides, this polish is meant to be semi-sheer. This is an excellent polish to go over something more opaque too. I wore this over my Chanel Kaleidoscope and Untarnished Image made it more silver, metallic and silver. As with most glitter polishes, the texture is slightly gritty and rough, but a topcoat over top makes it smoother and brings out the shine and the metallic finish of the glitter. If you are looking for something that is super metallic, very silver and very bling bling flashy then I think Untarnished Image is worth trying out. It is definitely a polish I would sport during Christmas, the holidays, any parties or just a random day when I want some bling in my life. It is a polish that looks great on its own or as a layering polish.
