Vena Cava’s Spring 2010 look is one of my favourites from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I love the seemingly matte bare face with taupe eyeshadow and a matte bold purple lip and blue nails. Here I used my own products to mix the lip colour. On every model the purple looks different depending the artist mixing it and the model’s complexion. I opted to make mine a bit brighter.

MAC Kohl Power Liner in Feline for top lash line
MAC Dazzle Lash Mascara Dazzle Black for lashes
MAC MSF Sunny by Nature lightly on cheeks
MAC Shape and Sculpt Accentuate/Sculpt using Accentuate on bridge of nose and tops of cheeks and Sculpt on sides of nose and hollow of cheeks
OPI Nail Lacquer in Dating a Royal for nails
Medusa’s Makeup Stick It Primer for lips, mixed with Medusa’s Makeup Red Baron (Red), New Wave (Blue), Blow (White) and Pompeii (Burgundy) Mineral Eyedust. Mix all of these colours and primer together to create the purple lip.

For the original Vena Cava Spring 2010 lip, MAC Pro products were used. MAC Makeup Artist Lloyd Simmonds used MAC Pro Lip Mix in White, Red, Blue and Burgundy to create the matte purple lip. You can decide on the proportions of the colours yourself to suite your needs in colour and your complexion. It is just like painting, mix and add colours until you get want you want.

For this look I decided to use OPI’s Dating a Royal which is a bright royal blue, not quite the bright cobalt at the show but it gets the idea across.

For nails Nonie Creme of Butter London created a matte blue using equal parts of Butter London’s Artful Dodger and Royal Navy. The mixture resulted to in bright cobalt blue.
